THE HISTORY OF EASLEY BIBLE METHODIST CHURCH

Easley Bible Methodist Church is strongly rooted in the Wesleyan tradition. More than thirty years ago, a small group of people, deeply concerned with the spiritual drift of that day, was organized into a local congregation in the Bible Methodist Connection of Churches.

Coming from various groups, Easley Bible Methodist eventually purchased the old Alice Wesleyan Church, where men like Rev. S. D. Herron, and Rev. William French have pastored. Building on the revival that was sweeping the country during those days, Easley Bible Methodist never lost that sense of spiritual fervor during the tenures of Rev. John Parker, then Rev. Terry D. Going, the current pastor. It has always been the desire of this congregation to provide a sane and sensible atmosphere that is healing and uplifting to those who hunger after righteousness.

Having outgrown the old church on Robinson Avenue, a beautiful new edifice was erected at 855 Gentry Memorial Highway, and dedicated to the glory of God, on March 7, 2010. The church looks forward to a more effective ministry in the days yet to come, with good music, an active youth program, a Sunday school class for each age group, and uplifting worship services.
